Why Child Labour should be stopped
71Why Child Labor should be stopped
Child Labour is one of the saddest issues the world is facing. Many children all over the world start earning at the age which is actually meant to play, study and learn. This age is to enjoy and have fun with friends, and not to pull rickshaws or clean cars and autos. Child Labor deprives a child from the basic right of education. Moreover, child labour is not the need of the society as well. Already most of the countries are facing unemployment and several unemployed people are present, so why there is a need to get the work from an innocent child.
This all basically happens due to improper education in rural areas and poor families. They do not know and understand the need of educating their child. According to a survey by International Labour Organization, if every child all over the world gets proper education, it will increase the world’s total income, and thus, help to improve the economy of each country and make it a great place to live. Eliminating child labour is the responsibility of everyone, including the government as well as the community and families.
Many people takes child labor in a wrong note and feels that sending a child to work sometimes becomes a necessity for few families and hence, child labour is not bad for society. But actually child labour does not mean opposing a child to work, however, it demands that the basic rights like education, should be first given to a child in order to build a corruption free nation. If every child of the country will be educated and able to earn a decent income, then the buying capacity of the families will increase, thereby leading to the progress of the entire nation.

Child labor is one of the sad issues and the biggest challenges that the whole world is facing, where a child is an earning machine working to satisfy the needs of his/her family.
How to Stop Child Labour
Though, it is not an easy task to stop child labor by just not letting a child to work, it needs proper planning and support from everyone. Employers should stop hiring children below the age of 18 years as laborers, but it may also lead the poor child and his family to be pushed into crime or suffer malnutrition. So, they need to be offered a better alternative by local government and child relief organizations. Some laws should be defined by the government for letting a child to work, stating the types of jobs a child can do, maximum number of hours and the conditions in which they can work. But before hiring a child, make sure he is getting proper education in a school; otherwise it must be considered as child labor or child abuse.
We, as being from a well-to-do family, should try to contribute a little to help poor children get proper education and make this world a beautiful place for a child to live in. Eliminating child labour will not only help in improving the economy, but will also lead to lesser crime and make the world poverty free. It would be great to see if some day all children will be able to go to school and have better lives because of education.
