Most parents want the room to look big and clean even after decorating it with loads of toys and games. So, if you are also among those or interested to know how to decorate a child’s room, follow the below tips to help you start decorating your child’s room. One thing you must do is to get the advice from your kid also so that he/she will also feel good once the room is decorated.
Tips to decorate Child Room
Select a new color to paint the walls. Take the opinion of your child, but make sure that the walls look decent after painting. If you find the color brighter, you may look for some lighter version of the color. Kids even love to have different color walls, so you can also go for different colors. You can also consider putting a wall paper on any of the wall; this is the easiest and quickest way to change the look and feel of the room.

When you have done with the walls, next thing you should do is to make the room look nice and comfortable. This can be achieved by installing different lights to suit with wall color. Kids often love dim lights, though their preferences keep changing with their mood. So, have 3-4 combination of lights right from dim to bright or colored lights. You can also put a lamp on study table and one on the side table near bed.
-
After proper lightning, choose the bed location and try to get a low-height bed as it is easy for a child to use. Try some colorful bedspreads and bed covers to create a cheerful mood.
-
Now, you need to create a seating space for study. Put a study table and a comfortable chair such that your child enjoys sitting and studying. If there is some extra space, try creating another seating space for you and your child to chit-chat and enjoy. This place can also be used to play games.
-
To decorate the walls, you can personalize the room with your child’s or your family photographs or make a collage. You can also put couple of non-toxic soft-toys; kids love these toys and like to play and sleep along with them.
By following these simple tips, you can easily decorate your child’s room and let him/her enjoy reading and playing while being in the room. If you have other tips for decorating child’s room, do add them in comments to help other readers decorate room for their children.

One of the best tips I ever got when my children were young was to go into their room and lay on their bed and see and feel the room from the child's perspective. Doing so really helped me work with my children to set each of their rooms up in a way that worked and suited them best as individuals. Nicely laid out hub!
